The City is seeking Planning and Community Development Director with a passion to serve the public and work in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader and manager who is solution oriented, focused on customer service, motivated to revitalize planning and development through implementing changes and innovation, humble and engaging, takes the work seriously but isn’t too serious, and aware and knowledgeable of State and regional regulations and requirements for guiding the City.
This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in urban or regional planning, architecture, public administration or a related field; 7 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in planning, community development, building and safety or a related field that includes 4 years of management and/or supervisory experience. AICP certification, experience in both the public and private sector, and bilingual ability are desirable. The City offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, with a salary range of $160,242.64 to $214,740.47, depending on qualifications and experience.
