The Fox Canyon Groundwater Management Agency, located in Ventura County, is an independent special district created by legislation in response to the severe depletion of groundwater resources in the region. FCGMA is not a water purveyor, it is responsible for sustainable groundwater management through managing extractions and implementing projects to increase sustainable yield. The Agency also serves as the court appointed Watermaster for the Las Posas Valley Basin.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced public sector manager capable of navigating the complex arena of regulatory agencies, California water law, and related issues. They will act with integrity, possess a strong moral compass, and commit to actions that assure public confidence in the integrity and effective operation of the Agency. To qualify, you should possess progressively responsible professional management level experience in the operation of a water agency or municipal public utility, including five years of executive level management experience and a bachelor's degree in business admin, public admin, engineering, hydrogeology, or closely related field. Possession of related professional licenses and / or certificates is desirable as is extensive knowledge of the Sustainability Groundwater Management Act legislation and guidelines.

The annual salary range for this position is up to $258,000 DOQ. The Authority offers an attractive benefit package including enrollment in the VCERA defined benefit retirement plan, optional 401(k) deferred compensation plan with up to 3% employer match, educational incentive pay up to 5%, a generous contribution to health insurance, and paid leave.
