The West Valley Sanitation District has been a trusted cornerstone in the community, providing reliable wastewater collection and disposal services to more than 110,000 residents in the communities of Campbell, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, the Town of Los Gatos, and surrounding unincorporated areas. Working in partnership with the City of San Jose’s Regional Wastewater Facility for wastewater treatment, the District plays a vital role in safeguarding public health and protecting the environment. The District fosters continuous improvement and emphasizes stewardship and efficiency to deliver high-quality service.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager with strong technical and managerial skills who places an emphasis on the management of all facets of the District including engineering, operations, and administration. In addition, they will be a team centered leader who encourages collaboration, ensures that everyone is working together toward common goals, and fosters an environment based on mutual respect among team members. Requires the equivalent of five years of directly related experience at an administrative, management, or staff level in a service district or municipal government with at least two years as a manager or supervisor and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Possession of a valid certificate as a Civil Engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers is required.

The annual salary for this at-will position is $290,000 - $370,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
